Japan Free n Easy Trip Day 5 (30/3/2008)

Hakata > Takayama

It is raining in the morning, luckily there is free shuttle van to fetch us from the hotel to Hakata train station. We bought some bread at the train station for our breakfast. Took the shinkansen to shin-osaka in order to change another train to Nagoya. At shin-osaka station, we bought a mixed fruit juice and curry sandwich for snack. Yummy.

At Nagoya station, we take another train to Takayama, our final destination for the day. Its a very very tiring journey, almost half the day spend on train. To our dismay, Takayama is also raining and it is very cold.



After checking into the hotel, we went to eat ramen at a nearby restaurant. The ramen does not really taste nice. Then we visit the old street, there are many shops selling handicrafts and snacks. The shops there close very early.



After loitering around, we went to have dinner, fried prawn and fried pork rice set at the restaurant below our hotel. As the room does not have internet connection, we watch TV program for the whole night.
