Japan Free n Easy Trip Day 2 (27/3/08)

Ueno > Hakata

We woke up at 6.15am as we need to catch the 8.30am train from Tokyo Station. Ueno > Tokyo > Osaka > Hakata. Luckily the train that we took from Ueno to Tokyo Station is not very crowded even though it is during the peak hours. We arrived Hakata Station at 2.39pm and managed to find our hotel without much difficulties. After checking in to the hotel, we walk back to Hakata Station and have our lunch at the famous ichiran Ramen. The soup is very thick and tasty.



After lunch, we took a subway train to Hawks Town Mall & Yahoo! Fukuoka Dome. At Fukuoko Dome, there are many hand sculpture of celebraties. As the place is very close to the sea, it is freezing cold there.



After that, we went to 天神, the CBD of Hakata. There are many roadside stalls, known as 屋台 Yatai, selling japanese food and snacks. On the way back to our hotel, we bought bento for dinner. The bento is cheap and yummy. Haha. We also pass by the famous Canal City, very beautiful. Along the way back it is raining and the wind is very cold.
